Privacy Policy for HIBEB

HIBEB ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, HIBEB (the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information about you in three ways: information you provide directly to us, information collected automatically or via device permissions, and billing/subscription metadata.

A. Personal Data You Provide

When you register for an account, create a digital business card, or update your profile, we collect:

  • Account Credentials: Email address and password (secured via Supabase Auth).
  • Profile Details: Name, job title, company name, phone number, email address, company website, physical location, and social media handles (such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, and GitHub).
  • User Assets: Profile pictures (avatars), company logos, featured videos, and custom PDF file uploads that you choose to display on your digital business card.
  • Contact List: Information of contacts you save or scan within the App.

B. Device Permissions and Data

To provide the App’s core features, we request access to the following device features:

  • Camera Permission: Used to take photos for your profile avatar and to scan physical business cards using our AI scanner.
  • Photo Library / Media Permission: Used to select existing photos, logos, or documents (PDFs) from your device to upload to your digital card profile.
  • NFC (Near Field Communication): Used to write/read your profile link to/from custom NFC business cards.

C. Purchase and Subscription Data (In-App Purchases)

  • No Credit Card Storage: If you purchase a premium subscription, all payments are processed securely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not collect, view, or store your credit card or billing details.
  • Subscription Status: We collect and process metadata related to your subscription status (e.g., active status, purchase date, expiration date, transaction ID) to unlock premium features in your account.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Core Services: To generate, host, and display your digital business card and enable sharing via QR Code and NFC.
  • Subscription Management: To verify purchase history and manage access to premium tiers and features.
  • Contact Management: To save, sort, and export card contacts to your device’s address book.
  • Platform Security: To prevent fraud, moderate user-generated content, and handle report/block requests.
AI Card Scanning Note: When you scan a business card, the App processes the image transiently via secure AI APIs to extract text. The image is processed in real-time and is never stored, shared, or used to train third-party AI models.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third parties. We only share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App:

  • Database & Authentication (Supabase): To store and host user profiles, logins, and uploaded assets securely.
  • In-App Purchase Management (RevenueCat): We share a unique anonymous user identifier with RevenueCat to track and verify your subscription status across devices. No financial or payment method details are shared.
  • Hosting & App Infrastructure (Expo): To run the application updates and framework services.

All service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and are prohibited from using your personal data for any other purpose.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data, including encrypting all data in transit using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) protocols.

5. No Tracking for Advertising

HIBEB does not sell your personal data or use cross-app tracking. We do not track your activities across other companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising, and we do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs.

6. User-Generated Content (UGC) & Safety

HIBEB provides features allowing users to display custom bios, logos, and media. To ensure platform safety:

  • Users can flag/report any digital card profile containing objectionable content, inappropriate media, or harassment directly from the card preview screen.
  • Users can immediately block other users, which removes the contact from their view and prevents further interaction.
  • Reported profiles are reviewed by our team within 24 hours, and non-compliant profiles or users will be suspended or permanently removed.

7. Your Data Rights (Access, Portability, and Deletion)

We respect your right to control your personal data. Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, export, correct, or permanently delete your details.

In-App Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly inside the App by opening the side navigation drawer, tapping "Delete Account", and confirming.

Data Purge Guarantee

Upon deleting your account, all your account credentials, profile details, uploaded assets (photos, videos, PDFs), purchase metadata, and saved contacts are immediately and permanently deleted from our database and Supabase storage buckets. This action is irreversible.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
